I awoke the day of my Wedding as any Bride would, full of anticipation and excitement and as it turned out, I was not going to be disappointed. Sharon and I had spent the evening before our Wedding in separate beds, Sharon gave me the bathroom first and I showered and got myself ready for the day.
I slipped into my blue terri cloth house coat and checked the time, it was 9:30am, and the plan was to have my Maid of Honor, Rebecca, come over around 10am to go through a rehearsal of the ceremony and look after any of the guests that were arriving early. The Wedding was set for 3pm, and my trip to the photographers was set for 11:30am. I got things ready in my bedroom, and laid out my Wedding dress and pulled out my lingerie for the day, my snow white satin and lace panties and matching longline lacy bra. I slipped into the bra and panties and already started to feel special with all of the lace and satin. I then placed my satin gloves on and very carefully slipped on my ultra sheer white pantyhose, ensured the line of the hose was perfectly straight up the back of my legs, I slipped into a pair of low white heels to protect the hose. I placed my headpiece, garter and white satin heels on the bed, so my entire ensemble was in place and ready to go.
Sharon called up to me to let me know Rebecca had arrived and I went downstairs to meet her, she had her dress, heels and accessories with her to get ready and arrived in casual clothes. Rebecca was asked to come over really early to allow Sharon to help me get ready. We had discussed before the Wedding and it really Rebecca's job to help me get ready, but Sharon wanted to personally help to make sure I looked perfect. Rebecca and I chatted for a while and we went through the sequence of events for the service, I explained to her about how to control the music, basically what she would have to do before, during and after the ceremony. Rebecca was ok with everything and once all the plans were set, I excused myself and headed upstairs to start to get ready, and already I was getting really nervous, yet excited all at the same time.
Sharon sat down and helped me do my hair and pulled out a couple of white combs of hers (something borrowed), and help put them in my hair. When she was done they would pull back my hair and expose my ears to show off my earrings. Sharon then left me alone in the bathroom as I put on my makeup for the big day. I stared at myself and as I stared at myself in the mirror wondered how I would look all made up with my complete ensemble on. I started with my eyes and decided to match some of the colours of the sequins of my Wedding Dress and applied dark green on my lower lids and dark pink on my upper lids. My eyeliner was applied lightly, but definitely defined my eyes, I smudged it to make it subtle and it looked great. I then applied my blush and was sure not to do it too heavy and used my lighter colour to allow for my cheeks to have a little colour and not too much. I applied three coats of mascara to make sure my eyelashes were perfect and when I was done and looked in the mirror they were. I then finished off the look with my new lipstick I had bought for the wedding, a deep yet pretty pink and applied a healthy coat. I completed the look by applying a light spritz to my wrists of a special perfume Sharon got for my birthday that year.
I then called Sharon from downstairs to come and have a look at my makeup and she smiled and said I looked "perfect", Sharon then took me by the hand and lead me to the bedroom for me to finally get into my Wedding ensemble. I unzipped my dress and Sharon played the Bridesmaid and after I slipped into the dress, zipped me up and did all the buttons up, and like previously at the Bridal salon, this took a bit of time. Once that was done, Sharon helped me adjust my headpiece, added the veil, and finally helped me slip on my white satin heels. Sharon left me for a moment as I finished off my ensemble by putting on my garter, earrings and finally my white satin gloves. I took a looking in the mirror and was in awe at how I looked and then came to a realization that today was the day, all of the preparation, all of the planning and today was the day I was going to give myself to my husband. The dress combined with the makeup, headpiece and everything made me feel so special and I could not stop smiling and I started to get even more nervous.
I called for Sharon and she was speechless when she saw me, commenting, "you are a really beautiful Bride", she asked me to turn around so she could see the whole look and showered me with compliments. I checked the clock and it was only 20 minutes before the appointment at the photographers. So Sharon once again played Bridesmaid and helped me bustle my dress up so I would not have to "carry my train over my shoulders all day long". Once she was done she looked me over one last time and then left the bedroom briefly and then came back and handed me a white satin purse, the same one that she used on her Wedding day and said, "here, something else borrowed". I put my blush and lipstick in it and then Sharon handed me my flowers and I lead the way downstairs to the car.
Rebecca met us downstairs and she also was in awe of my ensemble and had much to say. Sharon then suggested we better leave and helped me slip into the passenger of the car, making sure that my dress was safely in the car before she closed the door. Sharon then started to drive and pulled us out of our driveway, right away the excitement of the day got even more as we drove on the way to the photographers. As we pulled up to intersections, I could see other women looking into the car and pointing at me, and Sharon commented, "looks like the Bride is generating some attention". I smiled and smiled back at the women and girls that smiling at me as we continued to the photographers.
We arrived at the photographers and Sharon pulled up to the photographers and decided to let me out at the front door and then park the car and come and help me to the shop. She came to my side of the car and helped me get out making sure my dress would not get caught on anything, and as I slid out, I knocked my headpiece off, and Sharon quickly helped me put it back on. As Sharon parked the car I stood there and watched as many people noticed me and I got such a thrill.
Once in the studio I was greeted by the person at the front and was complimented on how lovely of a Bride I looked. She commented, "you are right on time Jennifer, let's get your pictures done, we do not want to keep your husband at the alter!". I was lead to the studio and noticed that the photographer was not the woman that we had met earlier, but a man, and when I asked about her, I found it was her birthday and she took the day off and I was a little disappointed. Before I went into the studio I used the opportunity to check my makeup and was looking myself over and the girl from the front walked by me and commented, "why mess with perfection", I smiled and said "thanks" and walked into the studio.
The photo session was nice and I knew that some of the poses would be perfect and he took about 20. He then he made the comment, "I am only supposed to take so many prints. But since it is your Wedding day, I will deal with my boss, I am sure she will complain".
Eventually the photo shoot came to an end and I made my way to the front of the store and stood in the lobby. Sharon went and got the car to bring to the front of the store and again, I loved the attention of the other people waiting to get their pictures taken and got lots of compliments. Sharon eventually brought the car around and came and escorted me out and helped me slip into the passenger seat and made sure my dress all got in before she shut the door. The ride was home was just as fun as fun going home, I got lots of girls and women pointing me out as we stopped at intersections.
We finally got home and Sharon helped me out of the car and upstairs to my room, were I waiting for a couple of nervous hours as the guests arrived, that was the last time I saw Sharon before the service. Rebecca visited me and she gave me updates on the guests and I was getting more and more nervous as time went by, and finally 3pm came and Rebecca came to get me and it was time. Rebecca undid my bustle to allow my train to fall and fluffed it out and then asked me if I was ready, and left me alone and she left for downstairs and the next time I was to see her at the alter.
I waited for a couple of tense hours as the guests arrived and few were late, I was alone thinking about the ceremony and what was going on downstairs. Rebecca finally came and got me and told it was time. I waited at the top of the stairs as per out plans and Trish the minister started the music and Rebecca lead the way and walked into the living room and to the alter we had set up. Shivers ran up my spine as I heard the Wedding march, and I let Rebecca have enough time to get to the alter. The moment finally arrive and I came down the stairs and headed towards the alter, making the turn towards the living room I was really nervous and I felt weak in my knees as I walked down the isle and saw all of the guests ooohing and ahhing and my look. Finally as I made sure I was not walking too fast, and saw the smiles on Sharon's and Rebecca's faces as they saw me walking down the isle, I made it to the alter, and as Rebecca turned off the music the ceremony began, and this is the exact script of the ceremony:
Minister: Please be seated. Ladies and gentlemen, thank you so much for attending the most joyous day, for today, you shall be witness to the bonding of a most special love. Not like the love that exists between a man and a woman, but the love that exists between two committed women.
Love is a very special and strange phenomena to explain, it can cause people, male and female to do things out of character and it can cause people to bond and become one. This is true of Jennifer and Sharon, for three long years they have become more than girlfriends, closer than sisters, they have ultimately come to the point were love has a made them realize they are perfect for each other and has made them take the step of marriage.
Thoughts by Trish
And now, the time that we will allow Jennifer and Sharon to express their love and devotion to each other in front of their friends and all attending this most joyous occasion.
Sharon and Jennifer turn and face each other, Jennifer hands her flowers to Rebecca, and Jennifer and Sharon join both hands
Minister: Sharon Lynn Blake, you have known and loved Jennifer for a long time, are you prepared to make yourself hers forever and have her make herself yours forever?.
Sharon: I am.
Minister: Do you Sharon Lynn Blake, take Jennifer Christine Richards to be your loving mate, to have and to hold, to honor and cherish, to be supportive as your relationship goes through joy and sorrow, to love in sickness and in health till death do you part?.
Sharon: I do with all of my heart and soul.

Minister: The ring has always been a symbol, the circle being an object without a beginning or end, so much like love, and it has been tradition that the ring has been shared between couples that want to share this love. So it is at this time I would ask that the ring be brought forth.
Who has the rings that bond these two?.
Rebecca: I do.
Rebecca then hands Jennifer Sharon's ring and Jennifer places the ring on Sharon's finger gently while still holding her hand and faces the Minister.
Minister/Jennifer: Jennifer, please repeat after me, I give you this ring as a symbol of our love and understanding. It represents no only a physical love but a love that cannot be broken by society or life's troubles.
Jennifer slips the ring into place on Sharon's finger
Jennifer removes her glove and hands it to Rebecca, and then Rebecca hands Sharon Jennifer's ring and Sharon places the ring on Sharon's finger gently while still holding her hand and faces the Minister.

Rebecca then steps forward and hands Jennifer her glove back, and Jennifer puts it on.
Minister: The candles here at the front represent something very special for Jennifer and Sharon, each one representing a personality in their lives. Now is the time the last candle is lit and the spirit of this marriage is recognized as a part of this household.
Jennifer and Sharon join hands and while the Minister steps out of the way and both take a candle and light the remaining candle, they step back when done and turn to each other, holding hands.
Jennifer and Sharon, you have expressed your love with the exchanging of vows before your friends and companions. I do declare you married, Sharon you may kiss the Bride.
After the kiss, Sharon and Jennifer hold hands and face the audience
Ladies and Gentlemen, may I present, Ms. Sharon and Jennifer Blake.
The service went by like a blur and before I knew it I was married and glad that everything went smooth. After the service I met all of the guests one by one, giving lots of hugs and greetings. Sharon had everything all ready to go and with the help of Rebecca, served a wonderful meal to the guests of lasagna and salad and the meal was wonderful. One of the things that happened is when one of the guests wanted to see my heels and hose and complimented me on how lovely they looked and all I could do was smile.
The dinner was served, but I was not hungry at all, the excitement made my stomach really upset, so I sat back and entertained the guests as they ate, and of course my Bridesmaid Rebecca made sure my champagne glass was filled for toasts at all time. Sharon was a sweetheart and along with Rebecca, made sure that the guest were well looked after. A few guests had cameras and pictures were taken of me and the guests and the guests individually.
Finally the official Wedding pictures had to be taken and the Minister, Trish, had a good camera and started to arrange the Wedding party and Sharon and I and started taking pictures. First it was me alone, posing with my train arranged, holding flowers, flowers on my train, looking back, etc., etc. Then it was pictures with Sharon and I, and then finally with Rebecca and I. I was really hoping the pictures would turn out well to represent such a wonderful day. Finally the pictures were done for the time being and I sat back down and rested my feet and we enjoy a few more toasts.
Someone then suggested that it was time for the garter ritual and the Minister, Trish, got into position to take the picture and Sharon knelt before me and lifted my dress to go for the garter. I decided to cross my legs and the combination of Sharon lifting my dress and crossing my legs almost caused some rather embarrassing exposure, but Sharon tucked my dress down and saved me. Sharon slid the garter off and placed it my hand and embraced me and gave me a big long kiss, finishing with whispering "I love you" in my ear. I decided not to throw the garter but rather say it to preserve the memory of the event.
As I sat down, I was informed it was time to open presents, and Sharon joined me at my side and we were handed presents by the guests. The ones that stand out the most are the cheerleading pom-poms from Debra and the lovely Salad bowl from Trish. The presents were over rather quickly and then it was on to cut the cake.
Sharon helped me up and lead me hand in hand to the cake for the cutting. The cake was pretty and had the saying: "Good Luck Jennifer and Sharon on your Wedding day", it was really special. As we grabbed the knife, joked about rubbing cake in each others faces, and both agreed we would not. We cut the cake as pictures were taken and passed it around to our guests.
As the party wound down, I sat to relax and talked to all of my guests, and then the time came to say good bye and "thanks" for coming and as they got their coats on, Sharon and I bid them farewell and were left with a very messy but wonderful house to clean up.
Sharon told me to "leave it for the morning, we have more fun things to do, and let's get you out of those heels". Sharon gave me a long and hard kiss, then took me by the hand and lead me up the stairs. She took me to my room and handed me my housecoat and told me to turn around and started to unbutton and unzip my dress. Once it was off, she left the room and told me to meet her in the master bedroom when I was ready. I hung up my dress and put away my head piece and finally slipped out of the strapless bra, oohhh that felt good. I also slipped out of my 4" white satin heels and gave my feet a rest as I put on my housecoat and started getting ready for my honeymoon evening.
I touched up my makeup by applying another coat of my Wedding day lipstick and finally stripped my housecoat off and slipped into my long and flowing pink lingerie for the evening. The lingerie was very romantic and long and flowing, it looked wonderful and could not wait to see what Sharon had picked. I slipped on my satin heels and applied another spritz of perfume and opened the door of my room and headed for the master bedroom were my husband awaited.
I knocked on the door and Sharon opened it, she smiled as she looked at me, "very nice", was her words and she came to embrace me. Sharon was not dressed sexy, but rather comfortable and she embraced me with a long and lingering kiss.
Sharon took my hand and lead me to the bed and made sure I was comfortable and like any good husband, made sure that I was a well taken care of Bride on her Wedding night. I too, as a good Bride, made sure my husband went to sleep completely satisfied on her Wedding night.
I fell asleep in my husbands arms for the rest of the night.
