Sharon and I spent some time discussing just how far we were going to go as far as expenses for the wedding and we decided that everything was to be perfect for the bride. I appreciated that and we discussed the different parts of my bridal ensemble, and we decided that we would go for flowers, but not spend allot of money on them. I researched the options, real and artificial, and believe it or not, artificial were cheaper, and Sharon and I talked about actually using them as decoration when the wedding was over. So after deciding that, I started looking in shops to do my flowers and found them really expensive, real and artificial, and then stumbled on to a woman that was doing them in her house and found her prices to be very reasonable, and after telling Sharon about her, we decided to go with her, and I made an appointment for early in September.
My "normal" season was from September 29th, my birthday, and the woman doing the flowers suggested that if we want them for the wedding, which we decided on November 17th, that early September would be just enough time to make up the arrangement. So with that in mind we decided to make a trip out of it, and decided that we would stop a mall near the woman's house and pick up my bridal heels and then after the flower appointment out to dinner at one of my favorite intimate restaurants.
With all the "travel" arrangements made, I came home early on September 7th, and shaved for the first time of the year, a chore in itself, but it was nice to once again feel my legs silky smooth. Sharon was not due home for a few hours so I took my time and wanted to make the first day out of the year special. Firstly, I slipped into some "generic" lingerie, bra, camisole, and half slip. I pondered over my wardrobe and realized that I was actually going out in September and the weather was still warm enough for not only white heels, but one of my favorite dresses, it is a yellow dress with a full skirt, lace on the hem and lace all around the collar, the dress gathers at the waist and flares out, it is almost heavenly to wear. I pulled it out and my high pair of white pumps, it is rare that I could wear these shoes or dress, as I am mostly used to "fall" and "winter" clothing, and i might add, my wardrobe is mostly that flavor. With the dress and heels chosen, I decided on white would be the colour on my legs, and I really wanted to wear a garter belt and stockings, but found I had no good stockings, but decided on a sheer silky white pair of white stay-ups. I was in heaven as I slipped into my favorite pair of lacy pink panties and covered myself with my silky makeup gown and headed for the makeup mirror. It took on a few minutes and I was right back into putting on my makeup in may favorite shades of purple and pink, I was really pleased at the results, especially for the first time of the year. While waiting for Sharon, I went to the living room and sculpted my nails and applied some Mabelline long lasting polish to match my lipstick. Sharon finally came home from work and we chatted and she brushed out my hair and complimented me on how pretty I looked, when she was done, I went to the bedroom and slipped into my yellow dress. When I had added the extras of my outfit, anklet, bracelet, earrings and Halston's perfume, I met Sharon in the living room, were we departed for the mall near the woman's house.
Approaching the mall, I was nervous, but Sharon assured me that I looked perfect and that I had nothing to worry about, which made me feel better. The shoe store was very close to the entrance of the mall and we there in no time, we were greeted by a really cute and sexy blond haired salesgirl, she was dresses very stylishly, with a business jacket and short black skirt. She asked what we were looking for and Sharon motioned to me and I told her that I was shopping for a satin pair of heels for my wedding. She smiled and said "oh congratulations, when is the date?", I told her and she lead Sharon and I over to a spot were a few pairs of heels were. She then asked the height I wanted and glanced to my 3 1/2" heels I was already wearing and said, "well we only have satin pumps left in 1 or 2 inch, but do have some 4 inch if you really want". Well, I told her that my bridesmaid was very tall and I really was interested in the 4 inch as I really had no problems with that height. She said, "well let's get your exact measurement, as we wouldn't want you uncomfortable on your special day", and she had me sit down, and I removed my heels and she asked me to put my foot into the measuring device and I did, at that point she complimented me, "that anklet is really pretty, were did you get it?", I told her, and what happened after that was so special; innocent but very special. She gently grabbed my ankle and glided my foot into the device, BOY!, did I ever get excited and made sure that my skirt hem covered my excitement, I mean the feel of her silky hands on my silky leg drove me wild!. I never let on to Sharon or her, but it was fantastic. She then informed me that a 7B, would be perfect and went to get a pair, at which point Sharon asked if I really wanted to be on my feet that long with that high of a heel, and I informed her that I did. The salesgirl came back and removed the shoes from the box, once again, I was in heaven as she gently grabbed my ankle and glided the heel in place, on shoe at a time. After the shoes were on, I did the natural thing and got up and walked back and forth in the store, stopping to admire my yellow dress with satin pumps, it was great!. I informed her that I would take them and she directed us to the counter were I paid for the heels and then we left, but not before she said "good luck with your wedding". The first trip of the year for me was really special and this one was no different, I was having a great time, with lots more to come.
Sharon and I drove over to Lori's (the person making the flower arrangements), to meet at a pre-arranged time, and as we made our way to the door of her house, I made sure I was in the lead, and as I looked back at Sharon, she just smiled and said, "go ahead", as I knocked on the door. We were greeted by Lori, who looked directly at me and said, "oh hi, you must be Jennifer, please, come in". We were escorted to her living room and were seated and offered coffee, which we declined, and looked around as Lori scurried around to find books of example flower arrangements. She then finally sat down in front of Sharon and started to take down information about the wedding, for example, size of the party, colours in my dress, colours in my bridesmaids dress. Some of the details were really hard to remember about the wedding dress, as it had been almost 6 months since we had actually seen it. We told her Sharon was my bridesmaid and described her dress as a mauve colour with a high collar and cocktail length. We started to flip through the books and started looking for a "cheap" arrangement that would do, but really saw nothing I really liked, but then my eye caught an arrangement that was in another room that was really beautiful. I eventually asked Lori if I could see the arrangement up close and she went and brought it into the room we were in, and handed to me and that was it, I was in LOVE, it was perfect, all the colours matched my wedding gown, greens, pinks, I was thrilled, I even stood up with it and I looked over at Sharon, she just smiled and said, "perfect". With my flowers decided, we knew that my bridesmaid was going to be in green (actually we got caught and backtracked about Sharon's dress), and talked with Lori about a bouquet to compliment my dress, her dress and came up with the perfect arrangement. When all was said and done, we made a rough appointment for a viewing of the arrangement and talked about the exact date of the wedding.
Sharon and I then headed for my favorite restaurant for dinner, and at dinner we discussed the next day, and yet another fitting at the bridal shop, finally I would be able to slip into my dress again!. The dinner was great, as I sat their in my favorite yellow summer dress, I got complimented by not only the hostess, but my our waitress, that addressed us as ladies and said that she "adored my dress", I was thrilled and in feminine heaven. The compliments at the beginning of the dinner and the thoughts of the trip I had earlier, made me smile all through dinner and all the way home, and I knew that the next day would be even more exciting.
