A Trip to "Bell Bottom Fever" at:

Stage West, Mississauga Ontario, Canada,

Saturday, January 27th, 1996

Earrings and short skirts is what the most exciting trip in a long while that Sharon and I took was all about.

Ever since the trip in January of 1993 when Sharon and I went to the dinner theatre/hotel, Stage West in Mississauga, we knew that we would have to go back. The trip is very exciting, firstly we check into the hotel on the Saturday as two women, then when evening comes we slip into our very best formal dresses and head to the theatre for a buffet style dinner. Following dinner we see a live theatre production, then retire to the room for the evening. The following morning after waking up, we take in a buffet style breakfast, as two women of course and then head home, it is a very exciting time.

Well this time was no different and actually planning started back in December 1994 when we got this trip as a Christmas present, and could not decide on when to go or what to see. Then a series of events happened that kept on pushing out the date of when we wanted to go and what we wanted to see, until such a time that a show that tickled Sharon's fancy came along. As for me, I could not care less what show we saw, I looked forward to the opportunity to spend the weekend as myself and to get all dressed up for an occasion.

The show "Bell Bottom Fever" came to the theatre and on one of its last showing weekends is when we went and saw it. The show was basically billed as a musical revival of the 1970's. Once the decision was made to see that production, plans for the actual day were in place and initially all I knew was that we would be going around noon, maybe catching a light lunch, then heading to the theatre to check in and enjoy the surroundings.

As the date grew closer I had to get my wardrobe ready for another big weekend, and since lately I have found comfort in the shorter skirts, I decided that both of the "casual" outfits I would be wearing would reflect those feelings. Sharon and I talked and I told her that the clothes I would be wearing to the theatre were more less "business" attire, she indicated that she too would choose something along those lines for the trip to the hotel.

With that decision made, I decided that for the next day I would be wearing one of my newer outfits that included a tight black ribbed sweater, and black short "kilt", and 2 1/2" black patent heels. The only thing left to be decided was what Sharon and I would be wearing on the Saturday night, and we made plans the week before to get together and go through our wardrobes and decide what we would wear for the big night. For the past year or so, Sharon has been very successfully losing weight and because of that, she really has no dresses in a formal style that either fit her, or flatter her new body. Basically Sharon and I are the same dress/skirt/blouse size so my wardrobe was the one we would concentrate on for the formal nights dresses.

Sharon and I got together the week before the big event and tried on all sorts of dresses, and one that looked perfect on Sharon was my red velvet dress, form fitting and a skirt that fit just about knee length. Myself was a more difficult task, I was torn between my green off the shoulder velvet form fitting dress, with a skirt just above knee length, or a purple lace over satin "bridesmaid's" dress. The purple dress was what Sharon called "borderline" bridesmaid's wear, it could be worn to a formal function, or in a bridal party. The dress is lovely, with a cross-over halter, a form fitting waist and a flared out skirt, pushed out by crinolines. The dress features a bolero jacket to complete the look, and since I had a pair if satin dyed heels for the dress, I decided they would be perfect. I guess the issue with the green dress, the one I really wanted to wear is the fact of attracting attention, because if I was to wear that both Sharon and I would most likely look like the "velvet twins", with closely styled dresses, close matching jewelry, pantyhose and shoes!. Sharon then suggested what we did the last time we went to Stage West is that I packed for both dresses and then decide that night!, I decided to go that route as the only really extra think I was packing was shoes, the lingerie for both dresses was the same. One last item of business was deciding on which shoes I would wear with the green dress if I decided on wearing that dress, and the choice was between my 4" black patent heels, or a 4" black suede pair with a gold spiked heel and gold filigree on the toes. I had the matching clutch purse for both of the shoes and in the end decided that the black suede 4" heels would be the ones of choice.

The days approached before the big event and Sharon and I decided that we were going to try to pack all of our clothes and accessories in one suitcase and pack the dresses and shoes in a garment bag for the trip to the hotel. While packing, I started to remember an outfit that I had worn quite some time ago, and never really had the opportunity to wear in public, and that was a white turtleneck sweater and my black leather mini, and at the last minute decided that since there was a little room left in the suitcase, I would pack it just in case the morning came and I changed my mind. Well, after two days of making sure everything was packed, including extra pantyhose for Sharon and I, contact stuff for me, etc., etc, the big day finally arrived.

Sharon left with the kids to allow me to get ready and I waited until the last minute I could to get ready as I knew I would not be able to get "fresh" again until the next morning, and the dinner theatre was going to last till at least 11pm or so. So with the washroom duties completed, I put on my bra (my special bra with built in shoulder pads), panties, and pantyhose, I slipped into my pink satin makeup coat and started preparation for the day. I decided on my "standard" makeup for my eyes, purple and pink on the lids, black mascara, and black eyeliner. My cheeks were done lightly in pink and my lipstick was light pink as well, a perfect daytime look. After my makeup was done I slipped into my favorite short leather purple skirt, and periwinkle blue sweater, the look was perfect. I then completed the look with my 2" pair of black patent heels, gold anklet, pearls, and a long pair of blue beaded earrings.

Sharon brought her little camera along for the entire trip and some of the pictures she first took were me getting ready and putting on my makeup in my house coat.

When Sharon returned she seemed as excited as I did to be going, and we both looked over the suitcase one last time and stuff some necessary little things we forgot into the garment bag that had our dresses and the suitcase and we were ready to go. Sharon loaded the car with the luggage while I slipped into my winter coat scarf and gloves and winter boots and made my way to the van were Sharon met me and off we went on another wonderful adventure!!.

Our plan was that when we left, depending on the time of day, we might stop for a light lunch at a restaurant and as it turned out, that was the plan. We arrived at one of Sharon and I's favorite road house style restaurants in a city just next door to us and decided this was the place for lunch. The walk from the van to the front door of the establishment was not that easy as very gusty cold winds blew both of hairs' around, mine more than Sharon's. Once in the doors I was quickly scrambling to straighten it out. Sharon and I were greeted by a waitress who beckoned those immortal words "good afternoon ladies", and with that we were seated and handed menus. Sharon could see that I was flustered by trying to get my hair under control and suggested I use the ladies room to straighten out.

I went to the washroom and was greet by the familiar sight of a fresh bouquet of assorted flowers on the sinks in front of a large well lighted mirror and a full length mirror, and of course stalls. I went into a stall and went about my business and noted that a couple of stalls away a girl was just finishing up. She left her stall a little before me and was at the mirror adjusting her hair when I came out. She looked at me and smiled and then she turned, grabbed her purse and started adjusting her skirt and blouse in the full length mirror while I adjusted my hair and touched up my lipstick. When she was done with the mirror I took my turn adjusting my sweater and admired how well my favorite outfit made me look sexy and hot.

Sharon and I both ordered salads, and myself a drink and we sat and talked about the day and what we would do once we got to the hotel, and it was decided that Sharon would go down for a dip, while I would soak in a nice warm bubble bath to get ready for the exciting evening ahead. Sharon and I finished our meals and drinks, and I took one last trip to the washroom, and met Sharon back at the table who was just settling up with the waitress, and as the waitress took some of the dishes off the table, she bid us a farewell, with "have a nice day ladies", and once again, I was thrilled.

On the way back to the van, I was just about to step in when Sharon stopped me and pointed out that one of the pieces to one of my earrings was on the ground just outside of my door, and thank heavens she spotted it, and I preceded to put the earring back together as Sharon drove us the hotel.

The ride to the hotel was special, as we approached the theatre, I remembered the last time we went to the theatre and was full of glee as we pulled up to the front door.

As we arrived at the hotel, the wind was incredible and Sharon and I fought our way to the front door and decided to check in then get our luggage and take it up to our room. Checking in was not as fun as the last trip, as the girl checking us in just handed us our keys and told us to have a pleasant evening, rather than noticing the fact we were two women about to spend a night together in a double bed!. After getting our keys, Sharon offered to go and get the luggage so my hair would not get blown all over the place, and I accepted as any good little wife would.

Sharon came in with all of the bags, and after handing a few to me, away we went to the elevators to our room. The wait for the elevators was fun, as we stood there, more and more people filed into this small areas, as we all waited for at least 5 minutes for one to arrive, and I managed to keep my cool smiling at a few guys and girls checking out my outfit. The ride up the elevator was not as scary as the last time I was in one with Sharon, but I managed, even with an elevator full of kids.

Sharon and I got to our floor and to our room, and after unlocking the door, Sharon look at me and motioned to me and said, "ladies first", to which I smiled and walked in ahead of Sharon. Once in the room, a rush of what we had the last time came back to me, there was the lighted vanity for our makeup, there was the large double bed, the big living room area and it was so nice. Sharon and I first unpacked all of the things that needed to be hung up, of course that included the dresses for the evening, and I unpacked my makeup and put it on the vanity.

Sharon and I decided that like the last time, we would take a walk around the theatre just to unwind from the drive and to take a few pictures. I had packed my 2" black patent heels, and after getting rid of my boots, slipped those on and Sharon and I were off to look around the hotel. Sharon suggested that we take the stairs, as we were only on the 4th floor and the elevators took forever, so we did, and eventually ended up in the front lobby of the hotel. Sharon and I then walked to the theatre portion of the complex and once again found ourselves in the lobby of the actual theatre and lining the walls of the theatre was memorabilia of past shows, and after looking for a while, Sharon suggested pictures, but we had to wait for a pair of couples that were enjoying the memorabilia as we were. Once they had left we took a few in the front lobby. I could not help but pause as Sharon snapped the pictures that in a few hours the lobby would be filled with theatre patrons, dressed to the nines, and Sharon and I would be two of the formally dressed women in the crowd, I smiled and thought what it was going to be like.

After taking a few pictures and enjoying the sites, we returned to our room without incident and Sharon changed into her one piece green bathing suit and headed for the pool, while I also changed into my one piece flowered bathing suit and drew a warm scented bath and opened the bottle of champagne Sharon and I had brought. As Sharon went for a relaxing swim, I soaked in the bath and sipped on champagne.

Sharon returned from her swim, and I was done with soaking in the bath, and the time was around 4pm, and dinner was at 6pm. Sharon let me have the first turn at the vanity, and after slipping into my strapless bra, purple silky panties, and "ever so fussy", ultra sheer black pantyhose, low black patent heels, and my pink silky makeup robe, I was ready for my makeup. Makeup application for this evening was darker than the afternoon application, but using the same colours as I used for my purple skirt and blouse, I darkened my eye colour, to darker shades of purple and pink, and thickened my eyeliner. I also darkened my cheeks with a darker shade of pink, and made my lips dark and red with my favorite lipstick, Roseberry by Max Factor and decided to make my lips even more inviting by adding a touch of glossy red lipstick, and just to make the evening complete, Sharon took pictures as I applied my mascara, for the "getting ready" picture.

Once I was all done my makeup, it was about time to decide on which dress to wear, and I first picked out my purple dress and bolero jacket and slipped into it while allowing Sharon access to the vanity. Sharon looked me over, after zipping me up, and we both looked at the dress from all angles and made mental notes. Sharon then helped me slip out of the purple dress and then into the short, form fitting hunter green velvet dress. From the second I saw myself in the mirror, I knew THIS was the dress for the evening, no matter what people thought about Sharon and I being "velvet twins". Sharon even commented that I looked more elegant and sexy in the green dress and that is the one I should wear for the evening.

Now that my dress was decided, I slipped the jewelry for the dress on, and after a matching "sparkly" necklace, bracelet, and long dangly earrings, I was almost ready for the finishing touches. I donned my gold anklet and then spritzed myself with a healthy dose of Halston's perfume, and made my way to a vacant vanity table, as Sharon slipped into her dress and jewelry, to apply my nail polish that matched my lipstick.

Sharon then took a turn at putting on matching nail polish, an anklet, and she spritzed herself with Obsession perfume, and when she was finishing up, I managed to snap pictures of her!.

Once Sharon was complete and it was about time to go, we both helped each other "slip and zip" into the velvet dresses, me into the green off the shoulder one, and Sharon into the Red one, not quite off the shoulder but close. After adjusting each others hooks, snaps and zippers, it was time to slip into our heels and pack our clutch purses for the evening.

I was using a new clutch purse that matched the shoes I decided to wear and as Sharon was packing hers, we talked about what I should be packing, even though I had a pretty good idea, and she helped me choose, blush, lipstick (of course), a compact, a spare pair of my "fussiest" pantyhose in the world, perfume, and my hair brush, and when Sharon packed the same, she and I agreed that the time was right for the "velvet twins" to make their debut at the theatre. There was a couple of other things that needed to be done and that was do slip into our heels for the evening and take pictures before we headed out the door to the theatre. I slipped into my 4" gold and suede black heels, while Sharon into a comfortable pair of 2 1/2" black patent heels, and we were both completely dressed. Sharon and I then took turn taking pictures of each other, holding our clutch purses, ready for the big night.

Once the pictures were done, I thought Sharon was going to put the camera back in the suitcase, but as we walked out the door, I saw her purse in one hand and the camera in the other, and asked her what she was doing with the camera, and she said, "do you think we are going to get all dressed up and not have our picture taken in the theatre!". I was thrilled and excited by her enthusiasm, and loved the idea, especially a public shot of us!.

Sharon and I headed out the door on our way to the theatre, and Sharon explained that the elevators took forever, so there we were, climbing down two flights of stairs to reach the lobby stairs, and me in 4" heels!, I did not mind though, as climbing stairs in 4" heels is easy for me.

As Sharon and I entered the main lobby a wonderful feeling came over me, and I knew I was in for a wonderful evening.

The walk down to the main lobby area was very special, as we walked along in our dresses, we were walking side by side with other couples that had the woman dressed to the "nines", and it was so nice to see, and as we passed the coat check, I could see some of the dresses and ensembles that other women chose to wear. The "final approach" to the entrance to the theatre is an area I will always remember, for the times I have gone and the times ahead, as it is a marble walkway, and with Sharon and I side by side our heels clicking in unison, and all around us, other women with their heels clicking, it is and always will be one of the favorite moments of the theatre trip.

We were greeted at the door by a waitress that took our tickets and lead us to our table, which for the first time was on the second tier of the theatre and had seats that were close to the ground, but unfortunately, there was a table of four that would make seeing a little bit difficult. The waitress that was to serve us for the night came up and announced, "the buffet is open ladies, and would you like anything from the bar", and Sharon and I both responded positively, and after taking our drink orders, Sharon and I headed for the buffet for our dinner. Dinner was uneventful, except for one small incident, I was walking back to the table with dessert in my hand and Sharon was in the lead, when I walked by a table and hear one woman say to another in a low voice, "don't you just love her shoes, I wish I could wear heights like that", I looked back and smiled, and the woman that made the comment smiled back.

After dinner, Sharon and I were approached by our waitress who took our plates and asked us, "any drinks before the play starts ladies", and both Sharon and I got enough to last till intermission, and I made one last trip to the ladies room after that to make sure I could last the length of the performance. Sharon and I looked around the room, and saw other people having their pictures taken following dinner and then decided we would get hold our waitress to have ours taken like everyone else. Sharon and I managed to flag her down, and just before the performance started she came over and took a picture of Sharon and I around our table, and I knew that would be a VERY special picture for some time to come.

The show started and at the beginning the play was alright, there was lots of music that I enjoyed and the dancing was great, and there was plenty of action. The play basically started in the early 70's and worked towards disco, as that was the central theme of the play. Anyway, the exciting part was when the intermission came, and I made sure that I was just about right to end up in a very long line for the women's washroom, and as it turned out, I was!. So there I was, in my 4" heels and silky stockings and very attractive dress, in a lineup with other women dressed to the nines, and I must admit that for the most part, except for a few other women, I was wear the sexiest dress amongst us. The washroom was smaller than the one I used back in 1993, it only had four stalls, but it had a large counter top and well lighted mirror for makeup touchups. When it came my turn, I went to the stall sat down and did my business, taking extreme care in pulling up my pantyhose, as not to put a run in them. Leaving the stall was thrilling, as I made my way to the well lighted makeup mirror, I caught a few of the women in line checking out my ensemble, but I just proceeded to pull my blush and brush from my clutch purse and touch that up, and finally my lipstick to put on a fresh coat. After touching up my makeup, I joined Sharon back at the table, and she to had just returned from the ladies room on the other side. Well, as we waited for the show to start again, Sharon snapped a picture of me at the table, complete with a fresh lipstick application.

The rest of the show put me to sleep, and in the end, I was glad to be leaving to get back to the room, I did however enjoy the evening immensely, and let Sharon know that as well. Sharon had a surprise up her sleeve, and as we left, she stopped an older couple and handed them our camera and asked them to take our picture with the stage in the background, and they did, while other people in the theatre watched, it was a thrill for me and we joked with the man that was taking our picture.

Walking back over the marble floor again as we went back through the lobby to the hotel was again special, and I smiled as I could hear the other heels clicking around me, it was so special. As Sharon and I walked past a bar area, Sharon noted that the main Actor in the play (a former star on the soap opera she watches), was in the bar with a group of friends and Sharon noted that she should say hi to him, and at point Sharon decided we would go say hi to him, there we both went, the "velvet twins", and Sharon lead the way in saying hi to the actor. Sharon did all the talking as I was not interested, and just stood and smiled at the other people at the table who were wondering what was going on.

After that Sharon and I returned to our room, without any problems, and once inside, we both got out of our dresses and into our housecoats, while leaving our lingerie on. I went to the vanity mirror and realized that one of my $60 earrings was missing!!!. I freaked and quickly started to get upset and Sharon assured me that she would quickly get changed and go see if someone at the theatre turned the earring in, and told me I should get undressed and into my lingerie for sleeping, which I did. I decided that for such a special occasion, only special lingerie would do, and so I packed my lingerie from my wedding night, my long pink peignoir.

I relaxed a while on the couch, and then finally I hear the door open, and Sharon came up to me, and told me to give her a big kiss and tell me how much I loved her, and placed my missing earring in my hand, Whew!.

Well, with that crisis over, Sharon changed into her lingerie for the evening as well and we ended the long and exciting day by snuggling on the couch, sipping wine and watching late night television before returning to bed.

The morning came, and Sharon decided that the first thing she was doing was heading for a swim, and decided that I would take another long hot scented bath, which I did, after slipping into my bathing suit, it was so relaxing. Sharon came back from the pool about the time I got dried off, and she told me to used the washroom first to get ready for breakfast.

I got my face all ready and proceeded to brush out my hair and slip into my lingerie for the day, even though I was not sure what exactly which outfit I was going to wear. Either the black leather miniskirt and white turtleneck, or the tight black scoop necked sweater and short red kilt, had the same lingerie for them. I pulled on my favorite pair of purple lace panties, a pair of sheer nude nylons, my padded bra, and slipped my silk makeup robe over top, and offered the washroom to Sharon as I went to the vanity to put on my makeup.

As Sharon showered, I put on my makeup, and since it was daylight and bright, I toned down on the shade of all my makeup. I used the same basic colours, purple on my lower lids, pink on the upper and a thin line of eyeliner. After applying my mascara, I did my cheeks with a light blush shade, and my lips in my favorite light coloured rose lipstick. I asked Sharon what she thought as she left the bathroom to change into her outfit for the day and all she said was "pretty", so I knew I had done a good job.

Sharon's outfit for the day was a short blue shirt dress, and as she changed into that, I slipped into the first of the two outfits I had brought, and that was the scoop necked sweater and short red kilt. I modeled the outfit for Sharon and she said, "OK, now let's see the other one". I then slipped into the other outfit, and Sharon agreed that the short leather skirt and sweater was the way to go. So with that decision made, I slipped into my 2 1/2" black patent shoes, and Sharon into hers, and we made our way downstairs to the restaurant for breakfast.

We arrived at the restaurant just in time, and were seated before a large crowd of people made their way to the entrance. Sharon and I both enjoyed the buffet breakfast, and Sharon even brought her camera, and snapped a picture of me at the table. We finished breakfast and made our way back to the room, were we packed up everything for the trip home. Sharon and I made sure to grab a few of the "trinkets" left for taking, i.e., a play program and such as we packed up.

Once we were all packed up, I slipped into my winter boots, grabbed my long coat and followed Sharon out the door with suitcase in hand. Once in the main lobby of the hotel, Sharon went and checked us out as it was really busy, and I sat in the lobby and watched all of the couples coming in for the matinee performance of the show, but since it was a matinee, they were not dressed as formally as the women for the Saturday night show.

Sharon finished with the checking out routine, and joined me in the lobby, were we picked up our bags and headed for the van, but not before Sharon took a few more pictures of us leaving the hotel!.

Once home, I gave Sharon a big hug and kiss and thanked her for the weekend and started unpacking as she left for other family duties. I hope this is not going to be the last of a very memorable and exciting time going to the theatre, and Sharon has informed me that it will not be!.
