The First Quick Second Fitting, of my Second Wedding Dress

The Outdoor Bridal Photo Shoot, Part 2, A Quick Fitting

Tuesday September 8th, 1997

After the first fitting, and my date with Dave, I quickly started planning the second fitting, and since I do not drive, I had to rely on Sharon for the transportation to Maria’s.

Lucky for me, Sharon was on the later shift of her job, 11am to 7pm, thus I asked her if it were possible to drive me over before her shift started and then get me home just before she had to leave for the office, and she agreed, so the Tuesday was all set, and I was going to be at Maria’s for about 10:15am and get the second fitting of my second Wedding Dress done then.

With the continuation of warm weather and the necessity to get in and out of clothes quickly, I very quickly determined what I was gong to be wearing for my next fitting. Since I was only going with Sharon to Maria’s and then back home, I decided on my newer short denim miniskirt, a button up, short sleeved flowered blouse, strapless bra and of course my 3” white heels and matching snow white purse.

The Tuesday morning arrived and I started by double and triple checking that I had everything ready to go for the second fitting and placed all of the items at the back door prior to even stepping in the shower to get ready. So I placed my purse, my new 3” white satin shoes and finally the crinoline. I even decided that since this was probably the last time I would be fully in the dress, all zipped and buttoned up that I should check the jewelry I was going to be wearing and grabbed an 18 inch pearl necklace that I planned to wear with the dress and placed it on the bathroom vanity so I would not forget it as I got dressed.

With my new breast cup size, I quickly realized that all of my older strapless bras would not be able to support it, and I needed a strapless bra for the new Wedding Dress as well as my original one. I explained the dilemma to Sharon and she recalled having a Merry Widow she no longer uses, (as her cup size has also increased over the years), that might be able to make due and she offered me the opportunity to rummage through her lingerie drawer to see if I could locate it. So prior to jumping in the shower I took Sharon up on her offer and lone behold I found what she was talking about and even though the cup size of the Merry Widow was a C, the heavy boning of the garment would be perfect for under the Wedding Dresses, so I located all of the pieces and left it out on the bed for when I would need it.

I made my way to the bathroom and showered and got ready for the quick trip to Maria’s. Once showered and clean, I made to my bedroom to start getting dressed. First came the Merry Widow and all 10 of the snaps at the back, it took me a few minutes to figure how to get it on!, and my was it ever tight, and the boning definitely could be felt, thank heavens I was only going to be wearing this for a short time, but knew that I was going to have to get used to it for the big picture day, at least 5 or 6 hours worth!. However uncomfortable the lingerie was, it did its job and held my full B cup breasts perfectly in place, and even trimmed my tummy a little, I was happy with the results.

Next came a pink pair of satin panties and sheer nude pantyhose, then my pink satin makeup robe as I made my way to the mirror to put on my makeup. First thing I made sure of is that I placed the necklace on to be sure I would not leave the house without it. I did not spend a ton of time on my makeup as I knew I was only going to Maria’s and back, so I did put on my eyeliner lighter than normal, and the same with my eyeshadow, light pink on the top and just a touch of purple on the bottom lid. My blush was light and I chose my light pink lipstick just for a bit of colour. I decided to not go with some perfume as it was going to be a short trip and moved to the bedroom to get dressed as I was running out of time before Sharon was going to be ready for me.

I slipped on my blue denim blouse and my new short denim skirt and changed my heels from the short 2” ones to my new snow white 3” ones and checked myself out in the mirror, and the look was almost perfect, the pearls were a little out of place, but I tucked them below my collar and I was all set.

I was at the back door making sure everything was perfect and Sharon walked in, and after we embraced and kissed I said, “perfect timing” and finished making sure once again that I had packed everything. Once Sharon came from the washroom after freshing up she asked me, “Ready to Go?”, to which I told her I was and after I grabbed everything, we got into the van and headed to Maria’s. We got to Maria’s at 10:15am and Sharon had to drop me off and be off to work by 10:45am, Sharon asked if she could wait in the van and I told her no problems and headed into Maria’s.

Maria greeted me, “ahh seniorita Jennifer, are we ready to be a beautiful Bride again today”, I smiled back and told her “of course”, to which she but the dress into the change stall and invited me in, and as I was going in she asked, “I hope you brought your shoes, slip and corset”, to which I replied “yes, of course”.

After I slipped out of my skirt and blouse and then into the dress, crinoline and 3” satin heels for the dress and I just sighed as it felt soooo nice, and Maria had done a great job adjusting the bodice and sleeves to fit. I walked out of the change room and Maria met me saying that she just loved the dress and I thanked her. She then zipped and buttoned me up and then started to fluff out the train and arranging it, once she was done that, she started getting all the pieces ready for the bustle and an activity that took only about 10 to 15 minutes with my original Wedding Dress to over 50 minutes with this one!. In between answering the phones, talking with me and helping some of the other girls, it took quite a while and standing still in one place without moving in 3” heels was getting tough to do, and I knew that Sharon needed to drop me off by 10:45 to get to work, I was getting a little frustrated.

One of the delays was my fault, I was wearing the 18” pearl necklace and asked Maria what she thought of the style, and she made a good observation, the necklace was too short and looked like it was “strangling me”, she suggested a slightly longer one, as she said, “it would be the perfect touch to a lovely Bride”. I smiled and told her that I would be sure to get a slightly longer necklace for the dress. I then pointed out that the headpiece was still hanging in the same place from the Friday before and she informed me that when I come and get the dress after she is done with it, the headpiece would be ready.

Maria went on to explain how the dress was going to be bustled, that was because the train was so elaborate that there were 6 places to bustle and explained that which ever girl I was going to choose to bustle the dress on my Wedding Day should have me try on the dress and practice. I told Maria no problem and asked her when she was going to be done, “just one more my dear and we will be finished”, I sighed and knew my thighs thanked me as well.

“Okay my dear, we are all done”, was all I needed to hear to shift my weight slightly in my heels and some of the pressure was off my thighs. Maria undid my dress and I went into the change room, handing Maria the dress and slipped behind the curtains.

I changed back into my blouse and denim skirt and could hear Sharon come through the door wondering were I was, and I told her from the change room to “not worry I would be there in a minute”, and quickly changed, grabbed my crinoline and satin shoes and thanked Maria as I left the change room and informed her I would get the dress on the coming Friday, to which she replied, “no problem my dear”.

I met Sharon in the car and told her how sorry I was and explained that Maria was constantly being interrupted and that it should not have taken that long. Sharon explained she had similar experiences with Maria and that I should worry, she was only going to be a few minutes late, but still I felt bad.

Sharon dropped me off at the house and left for work, and I was already starting to think about the wonderful photo shoot in the gardens in a couple of weeks.
