Well, here it is, November 19th, 1992, and yet another Christmas is upon us, and so is another trip for Sharon and I to do our Christmas shopping. This is a very special trip for me, as Sharon drives to my favorite mall and then we separate and I get to shop by myself.
So with one of the biggest days ahead of me, I decided to wear something special and appear as the perfect business woman. I decided on one of my favorite pink turtlenecks, and my new pleated knee length skirt. My hose were to be nude and my heels my low black patent heels. Sharon and I planned on going shopping and then to a late lunch, so I decided on bringing my higher black heels for the lunch and the lower black patent for the shopping trip, so I packed the higher heels in my tote bag along with the latest subscription of Glamour magazine. I decided on my standard business makeup for me anyway, purple on my lower eyelids, light pink on the upper and to finish my eyes off, black mascara and eyeliner. My blush and lipstick were light and gave me the perfect look. I then went downstairs from my bedroom and met Sharon in the living room, were she helped me with my hair and polished my nails, and we exchanged girl talk. Once we were ready, we slipped on our winter coats and then Sharon drove us to the mall.
Well we arrived at the mall, and we were lucky enough to get a parking spot near one of the entrances to the mall, an were able to walk in without wearing our winter coats and then checking them, well I nearly froze in my little skirt and top, but I endured.
Once inside the mall it was a wonderful experience, all the stores, all the clothes, all the salesgirls!. I traveled from store to store, picking up Christmas presents, and a few things for myself. One of the more humorous things that happened to me was soon after I entered the mall, I realized that the skirt I was wearing was clinging to my nylon covered legs, and bunching at my knees, not very pretty. Well, one of my first stops was a drug store, Pharma-Plus, and that was one of the stores that I was planning on stopping at for some Christmas gifts, well one of the things I picked up was a spray bottle of "static guard" and immediately went to the nearest ladies room and sprayed my skirt and everything was alright from then on, my skirt swayed from my body as natural.
I was in heaven as I went from store to store, checking out all the outfits and telling the salesgirls, "no thanks just browsing", and then looking at different dresses, skirts and blouses. At one point I was stopped by a man that was trying to sell encyclopedias, well he called me "Miss", and I said no thanks to his sales pitch and felt wonderful.
I eventually found Sharon's Christmas gift and bought myself some hose for Sharon and Is upcoming trip to the formal dinner theatre. I also found a wonderful green turtleneck in Reitman's and it was on sale for 1/3 off and bought it immediately. The last stop for me shopping was a jewelry and accessory store and found a purse that matches a new pair of heels that I have got and should go wonderfully with my formal night dress.
After meeting Sharon at the end of the shopping spree, we decided to go to one of favorite old restaurants, that has been converted to an old English pub. We were dining as two women and the waitress addressed us as ladies and that was really exciting, as all the lunch we were constantly being asked, "anything more ladies", which was really nice. After lunch Sharon and I headed for home and we started wrapping our Christmas gifts.
